Osec - Business Network Switzerland - is the official promoter of Swiss foreign trade. Its first task is to help companies from Switzerland and Liechtenstein to develop international business relations. This takes the form of information on foreign markets of interest to the companies concerned, consulting on their chances of success in such markets and facts about specific opportunities that may arise.
Founded in 1927, Osec is particularly targeted towards supporting SMEs. It has some 7000 customers, of whom 1600 are members and get regular news and updates on foreign markets. It manages a network of contact and support organisations for companies with international business relationships, and its services now include:

- Consulting
- Information brokering
- Training
- Marketing in foreign countries

Osec is also responsible for the Swiss Import Promotion Programme (Sippo), which promotes trade in favour of developing countries, and for supporting Swiss companies in technology transfers through the Innovation Relay Centre (IRC).
