Swiss-Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI) - ABN 270 02 894 448

Early in 1984, a number of Swiss and Australian business executives established a steering committee to examine the viability of a Swiss-Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This resulted in the inaugural meeting of SACCI being held in October 1984 where an Executive Committee was appointed. The first Annual General Meeting took place early in 1985 at which the Swiss Ambassador to Australia presented Foundation Member Certificates to some 40 members. SACCI was incorporated as a non-profit company limited by guarantee in July 1985.

SACCI aims to be recognised as the pre-eminent promoter of commercial interests between Switzerland and Australia.

Preamble

The Swiss-Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI) was founded on the 24 July 1985 and celebrated its 20th anniversary at the AGM Dinner Celebration at the Menzies Hotel in Sydney on 5 April 2005. This historical overview highlights some of the main events in the Chamber's History.
